Troops at Christmas

It's Christmas time once again a time we gather together as a family and give gifts to one another, but often we forget the true meaning of Christmas. No it's not the decorating the tree or putting lights up or even giving and receiving gifts It’s so much more then that!

It is remembering Christ’s birth (even though Jesus wasn’t actually born on Dec 24) we have set that day to be His birthday. What a gift He gave us when he was born so long ago through His birth, life, and then Death and resurrection on the 3rd day we have a way to heaven.

As the angel said to the shepherds “Do not be afraid. For behold. I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For there is born in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11

So shortly after the angel left the Sheppard’s departed to Bethlehem to see this thing the angel had told them and upon finding Jesus they rejoiced and went and told everyone they met along the way.

Luke 2:17-20)

Now believe it or not this is not when the wise men show up. They begin their journey after seeing the star on his day of birth. They travel many days and came to the house where Jesus lay

and then gave there gifts of Gold, frankincense and myrrh

Matthew 2:11
